Insurances
There are 2 Types of health insurance that will help pay for your eye care services. You may have both and we accept both:
1) Vision Care Plans: (EyeMed, Aetna Vision, Spectera, Davis Vision, VSP )
2) Medical Insurance (Aetna, Carefirst, GEHA, BCBS, Anthem, UHC, Cigna, Medicare)
Vision care plans only cover Routine vision exams. Vision plans only cover a basic screening for eye disease. They do not cover diagnosis, management or treatment of eye diseases.
Medical Insurance must be used if you have any health problem or systemic health problem that has ocular complications. The doctor will determine if these conditions apply, but some will be uncovered based on your case history. (Diabetes, Cataracts, Dry Eye, Pink Eye, Floaters, etc.)
If you have both types of insurance plans it may be necessary for us to bill some services to one plan and other services to the other. We will use coordination of benefits to do this properly and to minimize your out-of-pocket expense. We will bill your insurance plan for services if we are a participating provider for that plan. If some fees are not paid by your plan, we will bill you for any unpaid deductibles, co-pays or non-covered services as allowed by the insurance contract. Insurance carriers set these rules and our office is obliged to follow them.
In the event that we do not take your insurance, an itemized receipt will be provided for you so that you may file with your carrier for reimbursement. For more questions, Contact us.
Please note: We currently do not accept Tricare or Anthem Healthkeepers Plus. We would be happy to discuss alternative payment options or provide recommendations for other healthcare providers who do accept this insurance.
